It was a WHITEOUT!! Alabama 41, Georgia 30

Brett and I went to the Alabama/Georgia game last weekend. A collegue and friend of Brett's got us tickets and we stayed with them and did the whole tailgating thing in Athens! It was so much fun, more so for me than the rest of them as they were all Dawg fans. A HUGE thanks to Lori and Fred for the hospitality and good times! We had a blast!!

Here are a few scoring/scoreboard shots. There is also a shot of the stadium before the game and one at the end. The Blackout was a total BUST for Georgia! RTR!!

ROLL TIDE!

Football Ticket: $35
Roll Tide Roll T-shirt: $18
Watching 92,000 douchebags realize they wore black to their own funeral: PRICELESS

Wow. That is about all I can say regarding the Bama/Georgia game. Brett didn't have so much fun, but I sure did! Our seats were in the upper deck right in the Bama section, too! We could see all the action and I actually loved sitting up that high. Elly sent me this picture via email and I figured this said more than I ever could!! Enjoy! I will be posting pictures from the game later! I took pics every time we scored!

Community Helper Day at HJECC!!

Today was Community Helpers Day at TES HJECC and boy did the kids have a blast!! I want to give a big shout out to all the people who took time out of their busy day to come to the school and share their experiences with the kids. The children loved every bit of it!

Here are the kids with the fire engine. They were allowed to roam all over and inside it!

The kids listen to Juleta Brown, our only female officer for the Troy PD!! She drives the coolest car, too!

Let's hope this is the ONLY time Walker will ever see the inside of a police car!

The City of Troy sent over a Utility Truck. The kids got to see the "cherry picker" in action and go to try on some of the equipment!

Here is Walker putting on one of the safety gloves used by the Electricians for the Utility Department.

The kids got to check out the Ambulance. Haynes Ambulance Service came all the way from Montgomery for the kids. Haynes used to be our service here, but last time it was up for bids, Haynes lost the contract to Care Ambulance. Care said they did not have time to do show and tell for the kids. I think that is absolutely despicable. Their ambulance service to Pike County is less than stellar anyway. Hopefully, Haynes can get the contract back and we can get an ambulance service that actually cares about Pike County! Talk to your City Councilman about this issue if you feel as strongly about it as I do!

Here is Walker and Ben outside the ambulance.

Here is the whole class on the bus. This was good practice for when they take their first real field trip!

Ben and Walker on the School Bus! They were so excited about the bus, even though they didn't get to ride it!!

Walker, Ben and Kate get ready for some fun!

Obama Yard Signs Removed!! LOL, Go Bama!!

It seems as though someone or some group of people has decided to make much better use of the Obama yard signs. This one was spotted somewhere between Birmingham and Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. My good friend, Charles Cobb sent this to me. Charles was my partner in crime from 1st to 12th grade and I wouldn't be surprised if he was behind this. If so, good job, Cobb! LOL! For those of you who "can't" see it, it says GOBAMA 08!!

It is Time for Soccer!!

Walker had his first soccer game last night. This is his second year on the All-Stars and they have a GREAT team!! This team has been #1 in the league 2 years running, so we have to get it done again! We have 2 girls on our team this year--something we didn't have last year. I love having girls on the team, though, as it makes the games really fun to watch! You will have to click on my sister's blog to see for yourself! She is "My 3 Sons and Little Princess." Lets just say there was lots of dancing going on in the defender slots!!

Walker played awesome--he ran hard and made some key defensive moves. He is a really good team player, although he and Press did fight a little over who would kick the ball when it got close to their goal! LOL, it was funny. Here are a few pictures from the game that we played in the rain--yes, the RAIN!! It rained for 3 periods and stopped when the 4th started. There was also a cold wind, so it actually felt good. The kids loved playing in the rain, the parents, not so much!!

Oh yeah, Walker is number 17 this year!!

UPDATE!! The Tooth Fairy came!!

Walker hit the mother load with his first tooth and was able to buy a new Wii game. Here he is showing off his money, baller necklace and gap toothed smile!! Sad thing is, when he woke up, there wasn't anything under the pillow! It was the saddest thing ever! He slept with us that night and I guess the tooth fairy put the money in a ziploc bag and Walker must have put his arm under the pillow and moved the bag. When he woke up, he said there wasn't anything there and looked so sad. I felt something strange under my butt and lo and behold, the ziploc bag with his money was under me!! HE was so excited to find it and boy, was I happy, too!

Day 31 of Operation Swimming Pool!!

Since the Hurricane's have blown was west of us, construction on the pool continues!! They are totally replacing the deck and here are some pictures of the progress! In the second picture, you can see that Hurricane Ike has raised the sea level quite a bit. There is usually about 3 feet of space under those docks, but you can see the water is almost level with the boards! Yikes!

The Tooth Fairy is Coming Tonite!!

Walker lost his first tooth tonite!! He went to the dentist about 2 weeks ago and had 2 slightly loose teeth. Well, the first one came out this evening! He cried a little bit, but was so excited! He was laughing and crying at the same time!! Lacey didn't lose her first tooth until she was in second grade and she is still losing them! Here are a few pictures of my snaggle-toothed little boy!

You know the herd of female deer we have???

Well, their boyfriend showed up yesterday!! He is a young 4-point!! He antlers still have velvet on them and he is a medium sized fella. We watched him for quite a while until he ventured back in the woods. I tried to get pictures through the window, but the glass made a glare. I'll try to do better next time!! Here he is!!

McCain/Palin 2008

So, I haven't been very vocal on where I stand politically--obviously, Obama is NOT a choice as I think he is a bumbling idiot. I am a Republican, but I do not agree with keeping troops in the Middle East for one more day. I supported Ron Paul in the primary as his political platform fits me to a T!! It is ashamed that the Republican Party wouldn't even consider his message as he really was the only one, IMO, that really fit the ideal conservative mold.

Anyway, I am voting for McCain/Palin. I hope that they will change their views on Iraq/Middle East and after elected, they will start bringing the troops home. I got this adorable license plate via e-mail yesterday from my dear friend, Virginia Green! I wanted to share!!

Weekly Wrap Up!

This past week has been incredibly busy! I had court all day on Wednesday and spent Tuesday getting prepared. I cleaned the house on Thursday for an afternoon showing and spent ALL DAY Friday at the Elementary School for Grandparents Day and then we counted the money from our Fall Fundraiser. The fundraiser appears to be very successful with around $34,000 turned in so far!! Last night, we went to the high school football game and watched the kids beat up on Tallassee! We won 25-7!! I am posting a picture of Walker and Ben with Bibbie at Grandparents Day!! Deeda couldn't make it as he was at the beach working with the contractor on the pool. They are doing the finishing touches on the deck plan!! yay!

Walker's Special Weekend Guest!!

Walker's teacher, Mrs. Huner has a special bear who gets to come home from school with kids who have done well. Journal Bear is his name and he spent the weekend with Walker!! We were so excited to have him with us!! In order to have Journal Bear come to your house, you have to have excellent conduct grades, follow directions and do all of your work well. I am sooooooo proud of Walker for earning this special privilege! Here are some pictures of Journal Bear's weekend!!

Friday, Ben also spent the night with Walker. We went to the CHHS game and then came home and played a little Wii then went to bed. Journal Bear didn't go with us to the game as we didn't want anything to happen to him, so he played here. Here is Walker and Ben going to bed with Journal Bear.

Here is Journal Bear playing Lego's with Walker and Ben on Saturday.

Saturday night, we went to Elly and Jason's house to watch Bama ROLL over Clemson! Journal Bear put on his Bama hat and beads to cheer on the Tide!

Journal Bear and Walker finished the weekend off with a little Wii playing!! Journal Bear had a great time at our house and we were honored to have him!!
